What is a High Pressure Tank?
A high pressure tank is a robust industrial vessel designed to safely store or process liquids, gases, or steam under high pressure. They are used in petrochemical, chemical, energy, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
When is a High Pressure Tank Used?
These tanks are used to store liquids, steam, and gases in iron-steel, oil refinery, and chemical industries, and also as buffers/balancers for process subcomponents such as boilers, heat exchangers, and reactors. They are preferred in all processes requiring high pressure, high temperature, and aggressive chemical environments.
Safety and Compliance Standards of Pressure Tanks
As tanks operate under extreme pressure, even the smallest leak can cause dangerous explosions with shrapnel effect. Therefore, full compliance with global standards such as PD 5500, ASME VIII (Div.1-2 + U, U2, R, NB), EN 13445, API, NORSOK, GOST, PED 2014/68/EU is ensured in design and production.
All electrical components are UL labelled and wired according to National Electrical Code standards.
Design:
Due to the nature of the oil and chemical industry, pressure tanks must be manufactured with higher safety standards to prevent failures that can lead to disasters. National standards set strict and clear rules for the production and operation of pressure tanks. To ensure safe production and operation, we implement standards such as PD 5500, ASME VIII (Div.1-2 + U, U2, R, NB), EN 13445, EN14015 (BS2654), API 650, API 6A, ASME B31.3, DNV Offshore Rules, NORSOK Standards, GOST + SNIP Standards, NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, PED 2014/68/EU.
Pressure tanks generally consist of cylindrical or spherical components. P355NL2 and P460NL1 grade steels provide high pressure resistance at all temperatures. These forms are preferred for maximum safety, especially in tanks storing liquids that can vaporize with explosive consequences.
High pressure tanks are delivered ready to operate as a compact unit on a single skid.
Our university-supported R&D offers unrivalled safety, minimal carbon footprint, easy maintenance, and long service life. TSB ENERGY high pressure tanks are designed to save you money not only when buying but also during operation.

Customization and Control
- Process-specific software modifications
- PLC integration with communication protocols such as Modbus and Profibus
- Remote monitoring, control, and data collection (ModBus, Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet)
Safety
- Overpressure and overtemperature protection
- Fluid monitoring and emergency shutdown systems
- All safety devices are monitored via PLC, and automatic safety is activated in alarm situations.
Ease of Use and Maintenance
One-button start feature allows the device to self-check and shut down in case of possible errors. Active and historical alarms can be monitored via the HMI panel. The user-friendly control panel simplifies operation and maintenance processes.
Ideal Tank Selection
The ideal high pressure tank selection should be based on operating pressure, temperature, chemical properties of the stored fluid, and plant layout. TSB Energy offers the most suitable solution with its process analysis and engineering expertise.
Pressure Tank Equipment Components
Our high pressure tanks are equipped with many components for safety and process control, ensuring safe, efficient, and long-lasting operation:
✅ Safety Valves: Release pressure if internal tank pressure exceeds set limits, preventing explosion risks.
✅ Burst Discs: Protect the tank against sudden pressure spikes.
✅ Pressure Transmitters and Pressure Switches: Continuously measure tank pressure and transmit to the control system.
✅ Manometers: Allow operators to monitor real-time pressure.
✅ Level Sensors: Measure liquid or gas levels to prevent overflow or dry run risks.
✅ Temperature Sensors and Thermocouples: Monitor process temperature to maintain safe operating ranges.
✅ Drain and Discharge Valves: Used for safe draining and isolation during maintenance.
✅ Mixer Systems (optional): Integrated into tanks for processes requiring homogeneous mixtures.
✅ Vent Valves: Allow controlled release of gases inside the tank.
✅ Nozzles and Connection Flanges: Standard-compliant inlet and outlet connections designed for process integration.

Tank Types and Features
Separator Tank
Separator tanks are pressure vessels used to separate gas, liquid, or solid phases from a single flow source. Distillation tanks are used to purify a stream by removing undesirable components. In the oil and gas sector, separator and distillation tanks are widely used both onshore and offshore. For certain special applications, deliquilizers are preferred to remove gas droplets from liquid streams.
TSB ENERGY designs and manufactures separator and distillation tanks customized to your process and in compliance with ASME standards.
Buffer Tank
Buffer tanks are used to meet varying process flow demands without causing pressure drops. They also improve energy efficiency by keeping the temperature of stored media stable in renewable energy systems. TSB ENERGY produces high-quality buffer tanks suitable for your process, providing reliable solutions during peak loads or when heating system capacity is exceeded.
Hydropneumatic Accumulator Tank
Hydropneumatic accumulator tanks store liquids under high pressure to balance system pressure. TSB ENERGY manufactures hydropneumatic tanks tailored to your process and compliant with ASME and international standards. These tanks are reliably used in hydraulic systems, water supply facilities, and power plants.
