  • Many years of experience in industrial/commercial fuel tank technology
  • Thermal–thermomechanical simulations and fatigue analyses
  • Fuel tank motion/sloshing simulations
  • High operational reliability
  • Ease of regulatory inspections
  • Low maintenance and service costs
  • Strict quality control at every stage of production

Design

To ensure safe manufacturing and operation of our fuel tanks, we apply the relevant standards: EN 14015 / API 650 (atmospheric storage), ASME VIII – EN 13445 (pressure vessels), as well as PD 5500, API 6A, ASME B31.3, DNV Offshore, NORSOK, GOST + SNIP, NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, PED 2014/68/EU.
All electrical components are UL listed and wired in accordance with NEC requirements.

Ease of Operation & Maintenance

User-friendly controls and easy access to components simplify operation and maintenance, reducing downtime and OPEX. With one-button start, self-monitoring, and usage-based maintenance alerts via the control panel, fuel tank operation is safe and intuitive.

Safety

Safety and compliance are our top priorities. Our fuel tanks are configured with critical features such as grounding, flame arresters and breathing (vent) lines, high/low level and overfill monitoring, spill containment (bund/sump), and grating & access safety. For pressurized applications, safety relief valves and pressure/vacuum valves are integrated.

Materials

Depending on service conditions, shells and heads are made of carbon steel (S235JR, P355GH), AISI 304/316 stainless steel, or aluminum; nozzles are produced to EN 10216-2 using P235GH/P265GH seamless boiler tube or AISI 304/316 stainless tube. Internal/external coatings and cathodic protection are available for corrosion control.

Key Considerations for Material Selection

  • Corrosivity of the process fluid (viscosity, sulfur content, etc.)
  • Installation requirements (ATEX, Ex-proof)
  • Allowed maximum pressure and temperature of the process

Efficiency

50 mm high-density insulation ensures low heat loss and stable product conditions. The outer jacket is clad with galvanized and painted cold-rolled steel with low thermal conductivity (low λ).

Environmentally Friendly Design

With steam/thermal-oil/electric heating options, fluidity is maintained; level/leak monitoring and secondary containment (bund) reduce environmental risks.

Customization

Every facility is different. Based on process analysis, we design, manufacture, and commission atmospheric or pressurized, heated/non-heated, single/double-wall fuel tanks. With TSB Energy you receive not only a fuel tank, but also engineering expertise and support.

Options available for each fuel tank:

  • Piping and instrumentation packages
  • Heating coil/electric heater
  • Level, flow, temperature, and leak monitoring
  • Easy-maintenance design
  • Robust construction for long service life

What Is a Fuel Tank? When Is It Used?

A fuel tank is a storage vessel—heated or non-heated, horizontal or vertical—for the fuels required by the process. Suitable for fuel oil, diesel, gasoline, solvents, and other liquid fuels.

Choosing the Ideal Fuel Tank

Design calculations must match the intended operating pressure and product properties; material grade and plate thickness are selected accordingly. Heating (thermal oil, steam, or electric resistance) can be provided to manage heat loss and viscosity; a typical target product temperature is 50–55 °C.

Applications

  • Steam heating systems and boiler fuel supply
  • Power and process plants
  • Chemical, food, fertilizer, pharmaceutical, building materials
  • Petrochemical and refinery applications
